Combat Indoor Allergies with an Air Purification System

Indoor allergies can be a pain, especially since the average American spends most of his or her time indoors. But you don’t have to resign yourself to a home life full of itchy eyes, scratchy throats and runny noses. An air purification system can help you bring your air quality up to a comfortable level. Here’s how:

Many allergens take the form of small, airborne particulates that can irritate you no matter where you are in your home.

A few common indoor allergens include:

  • Dust, which can include everything from outside dirt to skin cells to food particles.
  • Dust mites feed on dust and their hard carapaces and waste can cause allergic reactions.
  • Mold, mildew and fungus thrive in humid environments and can spread through airborne spores.
  • Pet dander can cause problems with vents and electronics if allowed to spread and gather.

When these pollutants settle to the ground, a good vacuuming (preferably using a vacuum with a HEPA filter) and/or mopping can take care of them. But air currents, movement and even cleaning can disturb these particulates, allowing them to circulate through your home’s HVAC ducts.

Air purification system attached to your central HVAC duct can catch these particulates as they circulate, and remove them from your indoor air supply. Even better, cleaner air passing through your system can increase the life of your air filters and prevent damage to your HVAC system.

At Sobieski Services, Inc. our goal is to help our customers in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey learn more about energy and home comfort issues – especially HVAC and plumbing issues – so that they can save money and live in healthier, more comfortable homes.
