"What makes working in the Custom Homes division so enjoyable is the people you work with. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in the trade. On top of that, everyone wants to see each other succeed. We all help & teach one another what we can. Our managers will always make time to answer any and all questions or concerns. Lastly, the types of projects we work on are not only complex and invasive but the sheer scale alone makes working in Custom Homes that much more enjoyable."

"My favorite thing about Custom homes is that everyday, even if we are on the same jobsite, it's new and different work. One day we will be doing ductwork, then we might be installing a boiler system, and putting in radiant in floor heat. I like that everyone is willing to teach me all the different aspects of HVAC and I'm not stuck doing the same thing every day."

"I like that we work in really nice areas and we get to take the time we need to do the job the right way and the builders we work for appreciate that and work with us so that our final product will last for 100 years"

"What is Sobieski Custom Homes? A question I answer regularly these days but only recently have I come to fully grasp what it means to be a member of Sobieski Custom Homes. If I had to define it to one word I would say.... lucky. Lucky in that we all finally found a home where we can live and grow together taking pride in our work and passing along to the up and coming the skills and failures we have collected over all of our careers.

Two of our 3 plumbers worked together for many years at a different company and have found a home here for the past 7+ years and have taken on an apprentice to continue their legacy.

Seven of our HVAC staff including the Two Superintendents came over together from a different company that showed no care for their work-life balance almost four years ago and have not looked back.

Six of our staff members transferred in from other divisions and or previously worked at other divisions and took the leap of faith to come back to Sobieski and join the Custom Home side of the house.

The other three members (totaling 19, with the 20th member starting July 18th) were new to Custom Homes and Sobieski and at least as far as they will tell me, are experiencing the same lucky feeling I am of having commitment from Customers and Co-workers alike.

We work for a very specialized client catering to their wants, needs and frankly - their nonsense. It takes a very dedicated mechanic to ripe down their work and move it over a foot just because an interior designer says so, regardless that we get paid to do it twice, no one wants to redo their work.

Custom Homes has grown in the past 2 years from a sub seven figure yearly revenue generator and a subdivision of the New Homes Division to its own stand-alone profitable and respectable Business Unit for two very clear and distinct reasons.

#1- All the team members put the effort in that is required to more than triple the revenue while maintaining net profits and quality control.
#2- The Senior Management team along with the support staff have created an environment that has allowed this growth. The ability of Custom Homes to focus on its customers and their satisfaction instead of the mind boggling countless other events that have to take place every day just to make one wheel of this machine turn is what makes Sobieski fertile ground for prolific growth.

I would love to go on and on about how great Customs Homes team members are but unicorns don’t exist. As far as luck goes, I consider myself among the most fortunate to ever have the honor of managing this eclectic and passionate group of truly great human beings. The sweat from their brows’ puts food in my children’s bellies and I will forever be in their debt for how hard they work and how well they represent this company and our industry."
