WHAT IS AN "AIR HANDLER lAQ" AND WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT?
 The term, IAQ means indoor air guality. Your air handler could be an oil or gas furnace, with or without an air conditioning evaporator coil attached. In the case of a heat pump system, it is called a blower coil unit, which has the blower housing, motor, blower wheel and evaporator coil in one cabinet. These are the indoor systems that handle the movement of air in your central duct system. They are also the main source of catching and storing unwanted mico-organisms, such as mold, mildew, bacteria, viruses, kitchen grease, dust, dust mites, pollen and pet dander.
When Sobieski Services performs an IAQ on these units, the entire blower section is removed for cleaning. Then the blower compartment is cleaned. The housing assembly is then reassembled, rewired and reinstalled. Air conditioning systems will have an evaporator coil which will also need cleaning. This is done by cutting an access into the supply plenum housing the coil. A professional coil cleaner is sprayed onto the coil's aluminum fins and by a chemical reaction heats and foams up, pushing out all of the aforementioned dirt and living debris. This is a self rinsing cleaner which drains into your condensate drain line and cleans it as well.
 This process also has other positive results, outside of breathing cleaner air. The blower will now deliver the amount of air through your coil the way it was originally designed, saving you money on your power bill. The furnace, blower and coil section is the most important part of your central duct system and must' be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. If you are using inadequate filtration, it will be pointed out to you and recommendations will be made to keep your system clean in the future.
Important note: There are other companies offering cut rates on "duct cleaning". These are not bargains. They do not use skilled technicians who are use to installing these systems. "'e do! Also, they are not licensed to open any part of your central duct system. Most use a shop vac or spinning brush attached to a vacuum hose which docs not clean the main trunk lines or air handler. Results are fruitless and you will be getting what you pay for.
