There is universal interest in the quality of the air we breathe because of the impact it can have on our health. With the advent of "tighter" buildings, indoor air is likely to be more polluted than outdoor air. Indoor air pollutants can cause homeowners to suffer from flu-like symptoms, nausea and respiratory irritation, and can exacerbate other existing conditions.
Unfortunately, because of the complexity of the issue, maintaining good IAQ can't be accomplished with one simple action. It requires the implementation of four basic strategies: eliminate sources of pollutants; ventilate to dilute or remove pollutants; clean the air with filters or purifiers and monitor IAQ contributing factors such as temperature and humidity.
